Access Statement

Arrival

  • We normally collect guests arriving at the station but taxis are available.
  • Ample tarmac parking for 7 cars is available at the front of the house.
  • There is level walk of a few yards to the front door and a doorbell to ring for access.
  • A 10cm step leads into the entrance porch which has a movement sensor light.
  • The front porch is always open and the telephone number is on the cards and brochures on the hall table.
  • Signage is visual.
  • There are night lights in the spacious entrance hall which has fitted carpet and rugs.
  • Alternative access is via the back door with a level access and a small step.
  • Help is available with luggage. There is a downstairs toilet available to guests next to the laundry.

Accommodation

  • The accommodation is a spacious Victorian house which seems to make you feel immediately welcome on arrival.
  • We have 5 bedrooms available, all on the first floor.
  • There are a total of 15 steps up to the first floor.
  • All rooms have an en suite shower room.
  • All rooms are fitted with short pile carpet both in the bedroom and shower room.
  • All shower rooms have electric showers.
  • Rooms 1,2 & 5 have a small step up into the shower and 3 & 4 have a higher step.
  • All rooms except room 5 have level access to their shower room.
  • Rooms 1 and 3 have swing doors and rooms 2, 4 and 5 have in-fold doors on the shower (soon all showers will have in-fold doors).
  • Extra blankets and hot water bottles are in the wardrobes. In hot weather, electric fans can be provided.
  • The spacious landing has fitted carpet and a night light.

Outdoor facilities

  • Level access to the patio nearest the house, which is protected by sail-shades.
  • A path with another small step allows you to explore the garden, and takes you to to the paved end of the garden and the decking.
  • The patio is often used for breakfast in the summer or for guests to eat al fresco in the evening.
  • The decking at the end of the garden has a gazebo, a table for evening meals and a swinging seat to read or contemplate life's mysteries.
