If you are on a bike, then
you may wish to go off on one of our suggested cycle rides. All of them start from our house, except for the last one along the Camel Trail, which starts from just outsite Bodmin.
Par Market (open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday) - turn left down Par Green, under the bridge, and left at the end of the road. Follow the road across Par Moor and the market is on the right.
Canal path - turn left down Par Green and right by the railway line. You can follow the canal as far as Ponts Mill in Luxulyan Valley . If you take the road back you will come out half-way up Penpillick Hill.
Luxulyan Valley - as the canal path above - you can follow the path up from Pontsmill as far as the viaduct. The road from the viaduct will take you back to St.Blazey.
Eden Project - go across Par Moor and turn left at the roundabout, then the first right to Tregrehan. Continue straight on and you will find the cycle trail to Eden marked.
Pentewan Trail - go across Par Moor and turn left up the cypress avenue opposite the first Market car park. Turn right at the junction to Carlyon Bay and go straight on to Charlestown. Turn left towards the port then first right towards Duporth. Go straight over at Duporth holiday camp, past the rugby club and follow this road to the main St.Austell-Mevagissey road, turning left when you reach it. The Pentewan cycle trail is further down on the left - it follows the old railway track which used to transport china clay to the port of Pentewan.
Mevagissey - beyond Pentewan (big hill!).
Fowey - turn right out of the gate and follow the road to Fowey (plenty of hills!). Camel Trail from Bodmin - start from the pub a short way along the Bodmin Wadebridge road. Turn left at the bottom of the slope and you will arrive at Wadebridge. (Nice cream tea spot on the way!) You can the go on to Padstow if you wish (and still have the energy!).
